That was 2018 – we say thank you very much for an exciting year!

“Paths are made by walking”, as Franz Kafka would say. But even without our team undergoing Kafkaesque transformations we can look back on 12 exciting   months of changes and transitions – including new products, diverse new customers and countless enriching experiences. Here is a little review of the year from the w+t headquarters.

We were really quite busy in 2018; for example, we developed our own matchmaking solutions to take our current projects to the next level. The Koelnmesse deserves a special mention here; on its behalf, we created a new matchmaking platform over the summer with many new functions and a fresh design for the leading international trade fair Kind + Jugend.

The sprint was worth it: The newly designed Matchmaking365-Community was live in time for the trade fair in September. Thanks to the relaunch, visitors and exhibitors at the Kind + Jugend now have even more ways of interacting with each other and are able to expand their digital network throughout the year. In this project, we combined individual ready-made modules to create a solution tailored to the needs of our customer. It was very well received by the users of the community platform.

In addition, we have welcomed the bauma CTT RUSSIA team as one of our new customers this year. We not only redesigned the media equipment for the Moscow-based international construction trade fair, we also produced and sold it.

Some familiar faces also returned to us this year: We were delighted to win the German Pavilion contract again this year and we also extended our cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf. 2019 is our sixth year of collaborating with Messe Düsseldorf. It’s almost time to pop the champagne corks.

Another w+t highlight of 2018 were the good results of the CWIEME trade fair series during their transitional year. Our customer Ascential was also purchased by the ITE Group as part of the series, but this did not have any negative impact on its performance.

A number of new processes that we became familiar with last year are also worth taking another look at: we learnt a lot for our future work on the international market through our cooperation with international development teams, such as the Ignite team. The most important conclusion for us is that it’s not just large companies that are able to do projects with globally distributed resources, small strong teams like ours can, too.

And it is precisely for this reason that we would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm thanks to all our employees for their skills and for their continuous commitment to our projects. We are proud of everything we have achieved together this year, and we would not be where we are today without our great team. Thank you very much! We would also like to thank all our customers, partners and supporters for their cooperation and trust!

We look forward to a successful new year 2019 and we wish you and your loved ones all the best, health and happiness!
